Matthew Perry in 'The Good Wife': Creators Want Actor to Be Regular
Mathew Perry appeared on "The Good Wife" Sunday, earning positive reviews. The show creators also stated that they would want the actor to be a regular on the show.
In the episode, which was titled "Blue Ribbon Panel," Perry debuted on a judge's panel. His character, Mike Kresteva, clashes with Alicia, actress Julianna Marguilies, who is attempting to investigate a shooting.
Creators Michelle and Robert King both admitted that they would like to have Perry as a regular on the show, according to Newsday. The actor, however, is already in the midst of a commitment with NBC for a new show pilot.
The Inquisitr reported that the former "Friends" actor acquired the "Good Wife" role after reportedly admitting to Marguilies that he was a big fan of the show.
"He came up to me and said ' I love your show it's the best show on television I'd love to be on it,'" the actress said. "So I called up the producers and said I think Matthew Perry would be great in this role."
Fans of the show appeared appreciative of Perry's new role.
"'We LOVE' The Good Wife. Best show on tv right now! Matthew Perry will add an interesting twist," Judy Egleston Oelsen wrote on the Inquisitr blog.
"One of, if not the, best shows on TV right now and it just got better. Welcome aboard mister Perry, you did a great job tonight and I think I speak for alot of us when I say 'we can't wait to see more,'" Lesster Diamond added.
"The Good Wife" is an American legal drama which first aired in 2009. The CBS show was just renewed for a fourth season in March. Marguilies has won several awards for the show, including an Emmy in 2011.
