Microsoft Releases First TV Spot for Xbox One X

With roughly two weeks before the Xbox One X's official release, Microsoft made sure to get the public reminded in a powerful way.

The tech and gaming giant released earlier this week the first TV commercial for its upcoming console. The video, running on the campaign "Feel True Power," was aired during the season 8 premiere of AMC's "The Walking Dead," as well as "Sunday Night Football."

The trailer is packed with powerful scenes and images from video games and movies bolstered by Kanye West's song titled "Power." The minute-long video also flashes key phrases such as "Feel True Awe," "Feel True Excitement," "Feel True Fear," "Feel True Passion," and "Feel True 4K."

Some of the scenes featured in the trailer come from the video games "Minecraft," "Assassin's Creed: Origins," "Cuphead," "Forza 6," and "PUBG," to name a few. There are also scenes from movies like "Tomb Raider" and "Alien."

Gamespot noted that the console is 40 percent more powerful than its projected competitor, Sony's PlayStation 4. This should not come as a surprise since Microsoft has been proudly announcing that the Xbox One X is "the world's most powerful console" right from day one.

Microsoft explained last week that their "Feel True Power" campaign is designed to appeal to all gamers, taking the audience on an emotional roller coaster to elicit emotions like awe, excitement, fear, and passion." Furthermore, they said that the campaign is also "a call for gamers to feel the emotions of gaming in a way they may never have felt before."

Apart from being the most powerful gaming console Microsoft has ever created, the Xbox One X is also the smallest. Current Xbox One owners also need not worry as all of their existing games are compatible with the upcoming console.

Back in August, Microsoft confirmed that the Xbox One X has broken all pre-order records of any console created by the company. "Within just a few days, we saw record-setting sell-out times and are currently sold out in many countries around the world," wrote Mike Nichols, Corporate Vice President of Marketing for Xbox.

The Xbox One X launches on Nov. 7 with a $500 price tag.
