"I feel like it's a much better time for me because I don't owe anyone anything. I have always been a person who when I work for someone I show respect and do what I say I'm going to do so, I finished up my show and did what I had to do then took two years to work on my record and now I'm able to play that for the world," she told UK TV show Daybreak about what she's been up to since wrapping up Hannah Montana in 2011.

"It's just gonna sound like her and her influences, but it's not that hip-hop heavy," Pharrell told MTV about Miley's new album as he has worked closely on it with her. "That's not what she does, that's not where she comes from. It's a part of what she loves, which is a very big difference. I would expect that there would be elements of the things that she's into, but nothing rules her."

The 20-year-old's current single is "We Can't Stop," and is No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song became the fastest video to reach 100 million views on Vevo.
