Miley Cyrus Vogue Cover Canceled Following VMAs Disaster?

Miley Cyrus' Vogue magazine cover has reportedly been canceled due to her disastrous MTV VMAs performance.

The "We Can't Stop" singer, 19, was set to cover the leading fashion publication's December issue and already posed for the high-end photo-shoot, however, Editor-in-chief Anna Wintour recently decided against the idea due to her lewd VMAs performance on August 25. Cyrus received widespread criticism particularly for her skimpy attire and overtly sexualized dance routine.

"Anna found the whole thing distasteful," a source told HollywoodNewsDaily. "She decided, based on Miley's performance, to take the cover in a different direction."

As the VMAs backlash continues to threaten the future of Cyrus' once promising career, the teen recently revealed that she is simply ignoring the negative press. Various celebrities and showbiz experts openly slammed the former Disney star's over-the-top performance, however, she is admittedly brushing off her critics.

"Me and Robin (Thicke) the whole time said, 'You know, we're about the make history right now,'" Cyrus said in an exclusive interview with MTV on Sept. 2. "I don't pay attention to the negative because I've seen this play out so many times," she added. "Madonna's done it. Britney's done it. Every VMA performance, that's when you're looking for; you're wanting to make history."

On Wednesday reports claimed Cyrus' fiance, Liam Hemsworth, was preparing to call off their engagement due to her increasingly erratic behavior. Over the past year Cyrus, who got engaged in 2012 after four years of dating the Australian actor, has made headlines for questionable reasons including her substantial weight loss; drastic haircuts; getting her 10th tattoo and wrist-cutting suspicions.

"The VMAs is the straw that will break him," a source predicted to Life & Style. "He wants out of the relationship."

The "Hunger Games" star, 23, was reportedly mortified after witnessing Cyrus dance provocatively with married singer Robin Thicke during the disastrous VMAs performance.

"Liam really does care about Miley, but her racy new look and sort of ghetto attitude isn't exactly what he signed up for," an alleged friend of Hemsworth told Radar Online.

"Her VMA performance absolutely mortified him and he couldn't be more embarrassed. He doesn't really see anything sexy about what she did on stage," the source explained.
