MLB Trade Rumors 2015: Braves Still Looking to Unload Shelby Miller

The Atlanta Braves have long signified their intentions of trading Shelby Miller, but they aren't giving the former All-Star up without something valuable in return. No doubt, the pitcher is one of the most notable assets in the trade market this offseason, and the Braves are simply being smart in trying to get something better, knowing that several clubs are interested in getting his services.

Rumors about several teams expressing interest are abundant, especially in the past couple of weeks, but the biggest stumbling block as everyone sees it is the steep price.

One big name floating around is Luis Severino, someone the Braves are hoping to get in exchange for Miller, but it looks like the Yankees aren't biting, at least for the moment. Aside from Severino, Marcell Ozuna of the Miami Marlins is another prospect.

The San Francisco Giants expressed interest in acquiring Miller, and the Braves responded by saying they want to get Joe Panik or Matt Duffy in return, two players the Giants couldn't seem to give up.

There are just way too many rumors out there, but it still isn't sure if Miller will actually be on his way out. After all, it seems like all the deals and scenarios have been turned back for one simple reason — because Atlanta is looking to cash in on a bigger return of investment from all those offers.

In fairness to the Braves, they have all the right to ask for something big or valuable in return. It is no longer a secret that Miller is a rare talent, and that is supported by the strong interest from several teams. He also performed quite well last season, something that only a few expected considering that he's just 25.

It remains to be seen which team will finally give in to Atlanta's demands, but eventually, someone will. It's just too tempting to pass on a player like his caliber right now.
