'Mr. Robot' Season 2 Release Date News: USA Announces Mid-Year Premiere Date

Joining the fray are the new recurring guest stars such as Craig Robinson, hip hop artist Joey Bada$$, Sandrien Holt, Michael Maize, Dorothi Fox and Luke Robertson.

Season 2 is said to pick up following the events of fsocity's 5/9 hack on Evil Corp and will explore the consequences of such acts, Variety added.

A separate report from the media outlet cited show creator Sam Esmail's announcement confirming the news that he will be helming the entire 10 episodes of the new chapter.

"I am so very specific in how I want to shoot the show and the visual grammar of how I want to tell the story," Esmail said.

He did, however, clarify that his decision to take full rein of the project doesn't mean that there was an internal conflict between him, the network, or the directors of the original season.

"It's nothing against our directors in the first season, because they were all great to work with. For me, it feels like it would be easier to manage day to day. I'm on the set every day anyway, and I just think it would make the whole show be more efficient," he explained.

Esmail further divulged to the publication that fans better be ready for some "big reveals" in season 2.
