'Mr. Robot' Season 2 Spoilers: Series Executive Offers Updates on New Installment
USA Network's phenomenal drama TV series "Mr. Robot" has now officially started filming scenes for its highly anticipated Season 2 and show creator Sam Esmail announced that he will be spearheading the project personally.
According to Variety, Esmail will be helming the entire 10 episodes of the new chapter.
"I am so very specific in how I want to shoot the show and the visual grammar of how I want to tell the story," the showrunner explained to the media outlet.

However, 38-year-old made it very clear that his decision to take the reins doesn't spring from any internal conflict between him, the producers, or the directors in the original season.
"It's nothing against our directors in the first season, because they were all great to work with. For me, it feels like it would be easier to manage day to day. I'm on the set every day anyway, and I just think it would make the whole show be more efficient," he clarified.
He further emphasized that it is not really his intention to change the trends in TV industry. As an independent filmmaker, Esmail believes that creating episodic shows with multiple directors handling it is "highly inefficient." In fact, what happened in Season 1 had the whole show keep coming back to previous locations just to shoot the next one. He told Variety that if he's the one at the helm, he'll make sure everything is wrapped up in that one visit.
His propositions of making "Mr. Robot" more like a segmented "feature film" rather than a "procedural type of show" actually alarmed network executives like Alex Sepiol.
The senior Vice President of Original Scripted Programming told the website that the plan is "definitely risky and ambitious." However, they recognize the strategy as something more in accordance to Esmail's creative process. After deliberation, USA Network has to agree with the helmer.
As for what to expect in Season 2, Esmail teased to the publication that fans better brace themselves for the big "reveals." It was previously reported, meanwhile, that the new chapter will tackle more on the consequences of hacking E Corp as well as exploring the past of Rami Malek's character, Elliot Alderson.
