'NBA 2K16' to include 'Play Now' online mode
According to the updates from game developers Visual Concepts, "NBA 2K16" will be coming out with a brand-new 'Play Now' online mode. The online mode will place serious players in an online ranking system so that they can go up the ranks. It is for players of same-level skills and for Head to Head and Team Up matches.
This new online mode is for serious gamers and by winning consistently, the player can complete goals, move up in the seeds and enter the finals.
Releasing on September 29th, "NBA 2K16" is the 17th installment in the "NBA 2K" series. It has three different covers and the special edition version of the game will have Michael Jordan on the cover.
The online mode gives gamers 10 leagues or ranks to ascend and the 10 leagues are: Freshman, Junior Varsity, Varsity, Junior College, College, Development, EuroLeague, NBA, Hall of Fame, and Greatest of All Time.
Players will have to remember that any win or loss will be taken into account towards reaching goals within each league. According to OperationSports.com, "Wins and losses count toward reaching goals and new league seeds, though rising through the ranks won't be easy."
Players will be up against other players with the same skill level. Scouting reports about their opponents will also be given. The teams are divided into three tiers. The tier system is used to reduce a player's tendency of putting themselves in a winning team. This can be turned into an advantage when gamers use a lower tier team to beat a higher tier team as they will garner more points as they advance. While advancing, the player gets to unlock some of the classic teams which they can use, including some of the greatest NBA teams of all-time.
Gameplay producer Scott O'Gallagher has cautioned on Twitter that online play difficulty will be set at Superstar Simulation. This should make "NBA 2K16" a more realistic game having natural levels of difficulty. His tweet reads: "Superstar Simulation is the difficulty level for Play Now Online.' #WinnersWin Enjoy..."
