'NBA 2K18' Latest News: Game's Pre-Loaded Version Goes Live on PS4, Xbox One

A few days before "NBA 2K18's" official launching, gamers can start pre-loading the game in their respective consoles.

According to Gamespot, the pre-load for the highly-anticipated basketball game from 2K Sports is now open for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners. By pre-loading the game, players who pre-ordered the game can immediately enjoy "NBA 2K18" the moment it is officially unlocked.

The "Early Tip-Off Edition" was the version made available via pre-order, and it was unlocked on Sept. 15. It went live four days ahead of the official general release later this week.

Meanwhile, GamingBolt reported that Prelude demo is already out and available for download. Players can already get an early feel of the game through a few different modes. The demo includes the MyCareer and the much-talked-about Neighborhoods mode, which is the game's featured social space.

Apart from the Neighborhoods, "NBA 2K18" will also feature two of the biggest names in the history of the game: Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett. 2K Sports announced last month that the two legends who recently retired will be part of the game. The catch, however, is that they will enter see action on the sidelines as guest commentators.

"#NBA2K18's Presentation gets even more authentic & bigger as legends @kobebryant & @KGArea21 join the booth in our latest trailer!" posted 2K on Twitter. In addition, they said that Bryant and Garnett will appear "on a rotating basis.

Meanwhile, 2K had to make some last minute adjustments on the game's cover. NBA superstar Kyrie Irving was recently traded to the Boston Celtics from the Cleveland Cavaliers. The blockbuster trade prompted 2K to replace the old cover showing Irving in a Cavs uniform.

The developers unveiled last week via Twitter the updated cover featuring Irving now wearing a Celtics jersey. Forbes also reported that the change may have also caused some delay in the game's production.

"NBA 2K18" officially rolls out on Sept. 19 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It will also roll out on the Nintendo Switch, PS3, and PC.
