'NBA 2K18' Tops Weekly Sales Charts in Australia and New Zealand for the Second Week in a Row
Recently-launched "NBA 2K18" continues to slam dunk its way into the sales charts even outside the U.S.
The rankings for the week ending on Sept. 24 were released by Interactive Games & Entertainment Association (IGEA).
The group is an independent industry association that represents public and business policy interests of the two countries in the video gaming industry. "NBA 2K18" finished first place for the second week in a row since it was released earlier this month.
Trailing the basketball game was "Destiny 2" from Bungie. The multiplayer first-person shooter video game published by Activision previously held the top spot before "NBA 2K18" barged into the charts two weeks ago. In third place was "Project Cars 2" from Bandai Namco Entertainment.
The fourth spot, however, featured different titles for the two countries. In Australia, "Pokken Tournament DX" from Nintendo secured the spot while in New Zealand, it was "Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy" from Activision. Meanwhile, "Grand Theft Auto V" emerged on the fifth spot in Australia while "Pokken Tournament DX" claimed the rank in New Zealand.
Gamespot noted that the rankings for the IGEA weekly charts only reflect the physical game sales of the titles.
Meanwhile, Nintendo confirmed that the "NBA 2K18" for the Switch console requires owners to have a microSD card ready. The reason being is that the game's save file takes up 5 GB. "A microSD card (sold separately) is required to download 'NBA 2K18; for Nintendo Switch, in addition to 5GB per save file on the system memory," explained Nintendo.
"Please have the microSD card inserted before beginning the game download and ensure that you have a least 5 GB of system memory (not on a microSD card) available," the post added.
