New iMac 2015 Release Date Rumors; 21-iMac to Finally Get Upgrade, Could It Be an 8K iMac?
In an attempt to further expand its lineup of iMacs, Apple will reportedly launch a brand new version, according to trusted KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
In the report by Apple Insider, the 21-inch iMac is rumored to get an upgrade especially after the 27-inch iMac already had its way earlier this year during Apple's event where it launched the new MacBook 2015, the new MacBook Airs, and MacBook Pros.
The 27-inch iMac comes in 2K (2560 x 1440) and 5K (5120 x 2880) resolution, and are considered the best displays in the computing industry to date. Considering that the 21-inch iMac has a smaller screen, the device could get even higher resolution, and some rumors claim that it could be as high as 8K.
Meanwhile, Kuo did not confirm nor deny the possibility of an 8K display for the 21-inch iMac, although he mentioned that Apple will probably focus on image quality, which includes color saturation, and a new LED phosphor material called KSF.
On the other hand, a report earlier this year mentioned that LG hinted the release of the new iMacs. LG has been Apple's long-time partner in supplying screens for its devices.
If the Cupertino manufacturer manages to launch the iMac this quarter, it might again top the charts in PC sales. Last quarter, Apple reportedy was the only PC manufacturer that had a positive growth, in the midst of all other PC makers, reported by research firm IDC.
