NFL Free Agency Latest: Stefen Wisniewski Joins Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have a new offensive lineman to start the season after Stefen Wisniewski agreed to a one-year contract. The deal gives the 27-year old center another crack at making a difference in a team after a subpar performance last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

His addition is a much-needed upgrade for an Eagles squad hoping to make a turnaround this year. Although Wisniewski didn't have the most impressive season last year, it still cannot be denied that his versatility at the offensive end will prove to be invaluable for a team that is in need of it.

Per Bleacher Report, he was only ranked 19th among all centers in the league last season. One thing that is impressive about him is the fact that he hasn't really been bothered by injuries all throughout his career. In a total of five seasons as a pro, Wisniewski played in 77 out of 80 possible games.

His signing won't create that much of a buzz in Philly, but he sure will be an impactful player this season. He has a lot to improve on especially in the run game, but he's already an established veteran who knows what he needs to do to become a regular in the rotation. The fact is the Eagles are merely adding him to improve the team's depth this year. They actually have in their disposal a formidable center in Jason Kelce. With him, Kelce, and newly-signed guard Brandon Brooks, the Eagles are surely going to win more games. It looks like Jason Peters will be manning left tackle and Lane Johnson at right tackle.

Moreover, there also is a possibility that Wisniewski himself will be able to prove his worth in the midseason and even give potential starters Andrew Gardner and Allen Barbre a run for their money.
