Niantic to Fix 'Pokemon GO's' Legendary EX Raid Battle Feature

Niantic Labs' "Pokemon GO" is now one of the most successful mobile games to date. Its lofty status, however, does not spare the game from negative feedback coming from its most loyal fans.

According to a report from Gamespot, the game developer is set to tweak the EX Raid Battles after receiving complaints from active players. The criticisms stem from the EX Raids' manner of sending and distributing invitations to its players.

The EX Raids, unlike the regular Raids, offers a touch of exclusivity as it requires Trainers to participate regularly. The issue, however, is that Niantic apparently gives out the Premium Raid invitations in a random manner. In turn, even the most frequent Raid battlers do not have guaranteed invites for the tougher version of the Raids.

With the EX Raid Battles still in its testing phase, Niantic addressed the clamor for changes through Twitter. "Trainers, thank you for your feedback on EX Raid Battles. We're working to improve the invitation system based on what we heard from you," the developer wrote.

With the random nature of the distribution of the invitations, Polygon noted that some players who can only manage to win a single, basic Raid battle have the chance to secure a Premium Raid pass. On the flipside, the more skilled and seasoned players who perform much better may not even get a single pass.

In addition, securing a Raid Pass does not automatically guarantee that players will be able to join the EX Raids. The battles are tied to specific areas and locations, and players who receive a pass after winning a battle but went somewhere miles away will have to go back to the place where they won the specific battle that earned them the pass. This means that there is a chance that they won't be able to make it in time for the EX Raid.

Niantic was mum as to what specific tweaks they will apply to the feature, but fans can expect updates before they complete roll out the EX Raid Battles.
