No Sofia & Gloria patch up and Alex turns paranoid in Season 4 of 'Orange is the New Black'

It is almost nine months to the premiere of "Orange is the New Black" and viewers can't help but speculate with the few details that they have. Three seasons down and people see that the main characters are really traversing a character arc that has quite a bit of range. The timid Piper has turned into a gritty survivor. Red will turn into a more complicated person. Sofia and Gloria will not reconcile. And Alex is going to turn more paranoid. With such character development, Season 4 of "Orange is the New Black" is going to grab eyeballs.

At the end of Season 3, viewers saw a lot of new inmates entering Litchfield. So what is the master plan of creator Jenji Kohan? Kate Mulgrew, one of the stars, tells TVGuide.com, "[The overcrowding issues] are going to carry over to every nook and cranny in our prison, believe me when I tell you that. What [creator Jenji Kohan]'s going to do that no other creator is capable of doing with such expertise is, she's going to make you feel overcrowded."

This would mean the inmates fighting for territorial rights everywhere – in the kitchen, in the living quarters, etc. The old and the new will clash in this struggle for space in the overcrowded Litchfield.

Sofia and Gloria will continue their fight and it seems it'll take some time before anything gets resolved. Selenis Levya, who plays Gloria, is hopeful and says, "The audience got to see that these women are having conflict. And it's not about a personal attack on each other. It's more about their children, and how they're desperately trying to hold onto some kind of control."

However, any chance or hope for Sofia and Gloria pushing past this and reconciling is dashed by Laverne Cox, who plays Sofia. She told TVGuide.com, "I can't imagine. As a viewer watching, seeing how much remorse Gloria has, I always like to believe there's a potential for forgiveness, but this is pretty bad. This is really, really bad."

Well, there it is. At least, no Sofia and Gloria patch up in Season 4.

In the meantime, Alex is now more and more convinced that she is a target. She begins to get paranoid and watches her every step carefully but at the same time she also is preparing herself to fight off any future attacks.

"Orange is the New Black" Season 4 will return on Netflix in June 2016.
