'One Punch Man' News: JC Staff to Replace Madhouse in Producing Season 2
There is no definite date for the return of "One Punch Man." What is certain, however, is that a major change took place on the production side of things.
Madhouse, which took care of the production for season 1, will no longer return. Instead, J.C. Staff will take over the animation cudgels.
Moreover, director Shingo Natsume will likewise not be coming back. Chikara Sakurai takes over Natsume's role for the follow-up season.
Yonkou Productions also posted the huge development on social media last Monday. They said that the regrettable part of the change, more than Madhouse's departure, is that Shingo Natsume will no longer direct season 2.
As for the other key people behind the anime, Comicbook.com reported that Chikashi Kubota will return as head of character design. Tomohiro Suzuki, on the other hand, will take care of the series composition while Makoto Miyazaki and Shoji Hata will get busy on the music and sound directing, respectively.
Meanwhile, the voices behind the characters still remain the same. Makoto Furukawa will still take on the role of protagonist Saitama while Kaito Ishikawa will voice Genos.
While fans eagerly wait for any news regarding season 2's air date, rumors continue to swirl regarding Saitama's fate in the upcoming season. Last month, speculations floated that Saitama will likely get his first taste of defeat. His loss, however, may not come in the hands of his bitter rival, Garou.
Instead, it may be Sonic who will bring the superhero down on his knees. The rumors stemmed from one of the manga's issues wherein Sonic was seen throwing knives on a photo of Saitama. In addition, two mysterious men working for the Monster Association approached Sonic. It is speculated that Sonic will team up with the dreaded group to bring down the bald hero for good.
