'Outlander' Season 2 Spoilers, News: Series Executive Drops Details on New Installment; Speaks about Inconsistency with the Book

In a few days, Starz's hit drama TV series "Outlander" will be returning to the small screens with its highly anticipated second season and fans are already hankering for more information on what to expect when the show airs.

In an interview, executive producer Ronald D. Moore told the New York Post that the new setting, which is the French court, could prove to be very challenging for the show's protagonist.

"She [Claire] has had to penetrate a very different world, dealing with aristocrats. It's a nest of vipers and a bit of a challenge for Claire, who is used to speaking her mind. She has a limited knowledge of history. She knows the general outlines, but a lot of it is her figuring things out on the sly," the EP told the Post.

In the same conversation, the showrunner also addressed the issues concerning the show diverting from the source materials of Diana Gabaldon (the "Outlander" novel series). For the show executive, these reactions are just but a normal occurrence. After all, it's not that easy to please everyone.

"It runs the gamut of any fan base. Some people don't care. Some say, 'I was not okay with this change, but this one didn't bother me.' Our fans have pretty much embraced the show. There are always online arguments about a particular creative choice. You're never going to get 100 percent agreement," Moore explained to the publication.

Meanwhile, TVLine cited series actor Sam Heughan who plays Jamie Fraser opposite Caitriona Balfe's Claire Randall. He teased to the media outlet that Season 2 won't necessarily focus more on the aftermath of his character's rape and brutalization. For the actor, "distance and time" may have helped Jaime get the healing he needs from the trauma.

Of course, he's got other things to wrap his mind around with. There's the Jacobite rebellion which, according to the earlier reports, he and Claire will try to put a stop.

"Outlander" Season 2 premiere episode is called "Through A Glass, Darkly," and will kick off this Saturday, Apr. 9 on Starz.
