'Pokemon GO' Latest News: Gen 3 Pokemon Set to Appear in Halloween Event?
Fans of hit mobile game "Pokemon GO" can pretty much expect a special treat for the game's upcoming Halloween event. The surprise may likely come in the form of Generation 3 Pokemon.
According to a report from Forbes, a new wallpaper art featuring a number of Gen 3 Pokemon was extracted through a datamine from the game's latest patch and was posted on Reddit. The Gen 3 Pokemon that were featured in the artwork include Shuppet, Bannette, Dusclops, Sableye, and Duskull.
The five special Pokemon will be part of the game's Halloween event titled "Lavander Town."
Apart from the artwork, there are other clues that point to the appearance of the Gen 3 Pokemon. BGR noted that the latest update included sound files that featured the cries of Gen 3 Pokemon. Moreover, a new badge titled "BADGE_POKEDEX_ENTRIES_GEN3" also appeared.
Additionally, there is also a new designation for "HALLOWEEN_2017." Furthermore, there is also a new entry called "mapHalloweenNightMusic," which gives fans a hint that the upcoming event will have its own special music theme.
As far as the Gen 3 Pokemon go, Forbes noted that two of them belong to the same family. Snuppet evolves into Bannette while Duskull evolves into Dusclops. Considering that Niantic has yet to release an official announcement on the upcoming event, it is speculated that there could be more Gen 3 Pokemon to be added, on top of the featured ones seen in the artwork.
