'Pokemon GO' Updates: Game to Usher in Gen 3 Pokemon Characters Soon? More Proof Surface

While Niantic has yet to make an official announcement, it is believed that the upcoming Halloween in-game event of "Pokemon GO" will usher in some Gen 3 Pokemons into the game.

"Pokemon GO" is slated to hold another Halloween event this year, just like what it did last year. However, it is said that it is very likely that the game's Halloween event will be a venue for the Gen 3 Pokemons to find their way into the game as well.

According to reports, while the game's latest file package shows several Ghost and Dark-type Pokémon (such as Gengar, Zubat, and Murkrow), it also includes several Pokemon from the third-generation games, including Dusclops, Duskull, Sableye, Shuppet, and Bannette.

While the said Gen 3 Pokemons and their in-game models have never been seen before, some opine that their data-mined illustration is a tell-tale sign that "Pokemon GO" is on its way to introducing Gen 3 Pokemon characters into the game.

Although Niantic has yet to announce when exactly it will release its Gen 3 Pokemons into "Pokemon GO," it is believed that it is high time for the game to do so. With the Gen 2 Pokemons introduced to the game seven months after the launch of "Pokemon GO," and it has been eight months since the Gen 2 Pokemon characters arrived, some posit that Gen 3 Pokemons are on their way to "Pokemon GO," indeed.

Nonetheless, it is believed that, even if Niantic, indeed, introduces Gen 3 Pokemon characters into the game, not all of them will arrive at once. To recall, Niantic only introduced a handful of Gen 2 Pokemon earlier this year and only brought in more when it deemed that those it initially released have already been caught.

While all clues point to the arrival of the Gen 3 Pokemon, everything has to be taken with a grain of salt for now until Niantic makes an official announcement. With the month of October tapering towards its end and Halloween, it may just be a matter of days before Niantic drops the good news to the still avid players of "Pokemon GO."
