'Property Brothers' Star Jonathan Scott Reveals That He Was Also Invited to Join 'Dancing With the Stars'
Drew Scott of HGTV's "Property Brothers" seems to be enjoying every bit of his stint on reality dance show, "Dancing with the Stars" (DWTS). It could have been more fun, however, if his twin brother was also busting his moves on the dance floor.
In a recent interview with "Access Hollywood Live," Jonathan Scott revealed that he was also asked to join "DWTS." A toxic schedule and other commitments, however, led him to say "no." "I am jealous now that I turned it down," said the 39-year-old licensed contractor.
"I have 17 construction projects that we just started for 'Property Brothers' and 'Buying and Selling,' so I will have no life through to the end of the year. I couldn't physically do 4 hours a day," Jonathan added. His brother, Drew, was also present during the interview and said that Jonathan can still join "DWTS" next season.
Furthermore, Jonathan confessed that he was so impressed at how his brother is faring in the competition. "He's never moved like that in his life," said Jonathan. "He's the robot, that was his nickname growing up. Seeing this, my jaw is dropping more than the audience," he continued.
For his part, Drew said that credit should go to his partner, Emma Slater, who emerged as the grand winner in season 24. He said that she was able to help him transform his body and develop his moves on the dance floor.
Late last month, Drew suffered a hamstring injury while rehearsing with Slater. He was in the middle of a dance move when he suddenly grimaced in pain, US Weekly reported. "It felt like a knot popped in my hamstring," said Drew moments after, adding, "It felt like a snap, kind of."
Despite the setback, the realtor still managed to perform during the show's Latin Night. Their tandem received a score of 21 out of a possible 30.
"DWTS" is no stranger to injuries, as some of its participants in the previous seasons have also suffered. Mark Ballas, Sharna Burgess, Normani Kordei, and Derek Hough also sustained injuries in the middle of the season, said E! News.
