Ric Flair Returns to WWE Raw, Endorses The Shield

Wrestling legend Ric Flair made a surprise appearance on "Monday Night Raw" this week and offered his support to a surprising group of people. Instead of rallying the trio known as Evolution, Flair decided to pledge his allegiance to the Shield, surprising everyone in the building and possibly creating a few enemies.

Flair was one of the original members of Evolution, along with Triple H, Randy Orton, and Batista. Flair is an iconic figure who created a great deal of interest wherever he went and whomever he teamed up with. Not only was he a member of Evolution, Flair was also one of the original Four Horsemen along with Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Barry Windham and JJ Dillon.

The Four Horsemen came back in the 2000s for a brief resurgence but almost as quickly disbanded. Flair has since been a regular "returning guest" on "Raw" and pay-per-view events. Fans were thrilled when he made an appearance on Monday night and fully expected him to pledge allegiance to Evolution, completing the newly reformed group as they battled the Shield, their biggest rivals to date.

Flair, true to form, decided to do what he thought was best and gave a speech about his history being part of a team. He then surprised everyone by saying that everything comes full circle … greatness. And now he knew that he was truly surrounded by greatness, power, style, and grace. While everyone was thinking that he was talking about Evolution, Flair turned and said he was talking about the Shield; he then proceeded to shake their hands then left.

Fans are seemingly thrilled that Flair has endorsed a new group and offered his support to the Shield.

"The Shield vs. Evolution … this means war … what a crazy way to end the show … Ric Flair is on Team Sheild!!! #RAW" tweeted SouljahSingh.

"I am 100% on board with Ric Flair as The Shield's loveable drunk uncle," added Glenn.

It remains to be seen what impact or influence Flair may have on the Shield's upcoming antics.
