Sarah Drew Pregnant, 'Grey's Anatomy' Star Shares Photo
Sarah Drew of "Grey's Anatomy" is pregnant with her second child, the actress announced via Twitter this week.
The 33-year-old starlet took to the micro blogging site with a photo of her baby bump on Tuesday, July 30.
"Nope. That's not a fake belly," Drew wrote on Twitter along with a selfie revealing her burgeoning baby bump.
Shortly thereafter, Drew thanked her Twitter followers for their congratulations.
"Thank you all so much for all the well wishes! We are all so excited," she posted.
The child will be the second for Drew and her husband of 12 years, Professor Peter Lanfer. The couple welcomed their first child, Micah Emmanuel, in January 2012. It comes as no surprise that the actress is expanding her family – Drew recently discussed the significance of motherhood and the importance of family while promoting her film "Mom's Night Out."
"I think the role of mother and especially the stay-at-home mom is the greatest unsung hero of our culture today," Drew told The Christian Post. "We give a lot of lip service to moms, but in our culture in the media we kind of attach 'giving up' to moms who choose to stay home with their families, which is so appalling to me because you have this wholly terrifying job of raising up tiny beings t"o approach the world and the people in it either with kindness and grace, or malice and indifference.
"I cannot imagine a job that is more important, and yet we don't as a culture. We don't celebrate it, so this is our opportunity to celebrate it, and honor it, and look into hearts and minds of stay-at-home moms and say, 'Well done! You deserve an award and you won't get one, so here you go, this is it!'" she added.
Drew starred in the faith-based comedy opposite of Sean Astin, Patricia Heaton, and Trace Adkins. The actress also stars on ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" as April Kepner. The hit series enters its 11th season on Thursday, Sept. 25.
