Season 4 of 'House of Cards' Has Young, Power-Hungry Couple Gunning After Frank and Claire Underwood

Recent reports about Season 4 of "House of Cards" hint that the season may premiere on March 4, 2016. Though the date has yet to be confirmed officially, fans of the political drama will be happy to know that "Scream" actress Neve Campbell will play the other half of a young, power couple who will come up against Frank and Claire Underwood.

Fans did not really like it much when Frank (Kevin Spacey) and Claire (Robin Wright) separated at the end of the third season and their rise to power came to a dead stop but most of them understood that it was something that needed to be done. Showrunner Beau Willimon, in an interview with E! Online, spoke about why it was needed. He said, "Of course, there were people who wanted to see the Underwoods kick butt in their usual fashion and have victory after victory and I'm sure it was hard for them to see the Underwoods tumble and sometimes fall. But if they didn't, they wouldn't be human, and it would make it seem like the presidency was a cakewalk, which we know it's not."

Aside from being the showrunner, Willimon is also the head writer of the series. He mentions that they already have a storyline in the works and that the show will also be experiencing a presidential election.

Frank and Claire Underwood not only have a younger and more powerful couple snapping at their heels in quest for political mileage, they also have their old enemies ganging up on them. Former political allies, Remy played by Mahershala Ali, and Jackie, played by Molly Parker, form a team to bring Frank Underwood down.

To add to this political cauldron, Frank and Claire remain separated. Do Frank and Claire have a strategy in place? Of course they do.

To climb to the top again, Frank and Claire will put their differences aside and come together. Rumors are that they even adopt a baby to refurbish their public image.

Fans still do not know if Michael Kelly's character, Doug Stamper, will be killed off in Season 4. Kelly was speaking with the Los Angeles Times and he was asked what if Doug Stamper was bumped off. Kelly doesn't want his journey to end just yet. He replied, "I don't know, man, I don't want him to. This is the greatest job I've ever had, Doug Stamper is the greatest gift I have ever been given as an actor. I love playing him, I love going to work everyday, here we are in season 4 and I love going to work just as much as I did first day of season 1 and that says a lot."
