'Sleepy Hollow' Season 3 Episode 17 Spoilers: Abbie And Crane Take A Shot At The Impossible

Time slips away fast without anyone knowing and the current Season 3 of Fox's hit supernatural drama TV series "Sleepy Hollow" is now nearing its conclusion. Fans of the show better brace themselves for the explosive development that is about to take place in this week's penultimate episode.

The trailer for the episode titled "Delaware" teases some tragic events that might take place in the hour as the Hidden One gets even closer to becoming omnipotent. The video also features the heroes battling a horned creature, perhaps a wendigo, as the big bad threatens someone that he will take his or her life "slowly." The unlucky one 's identity is yet to be revealed but the clues are quite clear that this won't end well to him or her. The clip ends with Crane looking downcast.

"Victory comes at a terrible loss," he said.

Spoiler alert for those who missed "Dawn's Early Light," the Hidden One's significant other decides to ditch the partnership for the Witnesses after having realized that her husband has no intention to treat her as an equal.

With the woman in their side, Abbie, Crane, and the rest of the team now know that the only way to alleviate the crisis would be for someone to go back to the catacombs where Pandora's box can be restored. The mission prompts Abbie and Crane to find that one flag Betsy Ross made which will be the key for their journey inside the catacombs.

As also teased in the synopsis from The Futon Critic, the Witnesses will be racing against time as the moment of reckoning draws nearer than ever. This will force the two to "do the unthinkable in a last-ditch effort to save the world." The rest of the group, meanwhile, will devise a plan to stall the Hidden One as their comrades went about to their mission.

"Sleepy Hollow" Season 3 the penultimate episode premieres this Friday, Apr. 1 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
