Meanwhile, it was also reported that Jenny and Abbie's father, Ezra Mills, will be featured in the upcoming episodes. Played by James McDaniel, the character could help Abbie return. In addition, it was revealed that his presence will also allow fans to get to know more about their favorite characters and their pasts.

According to TV Line, the executive producer of the series, Clifton Campbell, shared some interesting details about the appearance of Ezra. "I think the hardcore fans have always wondered about Dad. There was a picture painted of him early on that was the guy who ran off, who couldn't deal, and who fled. It's very nice to find that that's not necessarily true, and the part of it that is true is much more realized in the back half [of the season]."

With that, Abbie's absence will allow for Jenny and Joe to become closer. It was stated that Jenny will seek comfort from Joe, while her sister is away. Fans of the series can expect their relationship to progress.

"Sleepy Hollow" season 3 returns on FOX this Feb. 5.
