Sony Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and SmartWatch 2 Now Available in the US
The Sony Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and SmartWatch 2 are now available in the U.S.
The company announced the availability of these three devices earlier this week.
The Sony Xperia Z1 is the successor to last year's Xperia Z handset that was water and dust resistant. This new version retains those same qualities and also packs a much more powerful camera with its 20.7-megapixel point and shooter.

Other specs on the Xperia Z1 include a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, microSD, a 2-megapixel front shooter, NFC, and a 3000 mAh battery. It packs a 5-inch TFT display with 441ppi and runs Android 4.2, JellyBean straight out of the box.
The smartphone will retail $699.99 for the non LTE version.
The Sony Xperia Z Ultra actually functions as a Galaxy Note 3 competitor as it comes with a 6.4-inch 1080p LCD display, a water-dust resistant design and the ability to use pencils and pens instead of a stylus.
The phablet also features a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM, 8-megapixel front camera, 16GB storage, microSD card slot, NFC, and a 3050 mAh battery. The handset runs Android 4.2.2, JellyBean out of the box.
The 3G version will retail for $649.99 while the LTE model will sell for $679.99.
The Sony SmartWatch 2 comes with a water resistant design, NFC technology, and is compatible with any device with Android 4.0 and up.
It utilizes a 180MHz processor and a low-rez 220x176 pixel 1.6-inch TFT LCD. The watch will retail for $199.99.
The is the first time any of these devices will hit the U.S. This increases the competition greatly as Sony's handsets have fared well overseas.
