It starts off with Dominic Cooper's Jesse Custer saying that "Something got loose. We don't know how it ended up here and we're not sure why." The succeeding shots then show a montage of intense and grotesque scenes that are to be expected when "The Preacher" goes on-air.

Speaking of the show's supernatural aspects, series showrunner Sam Catlin spoke with Collider lately to clarify some issues that are often pointed out by fans of the original material. According to reports, followers of the comic book series are quite skeptical that the TV adaptation will just end up as a watered-down version.

Catlin, however said, that this won't be the case at all. In the interview, he told the media outlet that AMC has been very supportive of their artistic preferences.

"[AMC has] been really great. And the violence, there's been very little [pushback]…From the beginning, I'm sure people were like, 'Well, I wish it were on HBO because you could do whatever you wanted and it would be so awesome,'but I'm telling you this is not Preacher TV, this is not Preacher for basic cable, it's f*****' Preacher," he told Collider.

"Preacher" is set to debut on Sunday, May 22, at 10 p.m.
