WWE SummerSlam Results: Does WWE Have a New Champion?

Last night was the annual event known to WWE (World Wide Entertainment) fans as SummerSlam. The event was filled with twists and turns… and there is a new WWE Champion thanks to a devious plan.

During the main event, which pitted Champion John Cena against relative newcomer Daniel Bryan, the intensely popular underdog defeated the Champion. Bryan managed to unseat the Champion and fulfill a life-long dream of wearing the gold belt. However, his reign did not last long.

Special guest referee, and one of the WWE's administrators, Triple H, quickly worked with Money In the Bank contact owner Randy Orton. Orton put away Bryan, thanks to Triple H setting up Bryan and essentially handing him the WWE Championship, leaving fans stunned and Bryan heartbroken.

"I can't believe Daniel Bryan got robbed all because of Triple H. I got a feeling at Night of Champions, Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton, YES YES YES!!! I believe that he get another shot at it, no one else has a WWE MITB contract briefcase," commented Michael Ruelas on WWE.com.

In the match titled "The Best vs. The Beast," Brock Lesnar (The Beast) was successful in defeating CM Punk. Punk risked it all just to get his hands on former manager, and friend, Paul Heyman. He was able to punch Heyman in a satisfying moment for Punk, who had been obsessed with getting revenge on Heyman.

Bray Wyatt took on Kane in a "Ring of Fire" match in his SummerSlam debut. The ring was set on fire to prevent members of Wyatt's family from interfering in the match, but Harper and Rowan Wyatt figured out how to use a blanket and get into the ring in order to attack Kane. Bray ended up defeating Kane and then allowed his boys to decimate the big red machine by slamming him into two sets of steel steps. All three then carried Kane out of the arena.

In another championship match, Alberto Del Rio was able to retain his title against Christian. Del Rio was able to use his signature move, the Cross Armbreaker, and Christian was forced to tap out, thus ending his quest for "one more" championship.

The superstars will likely have a lot to say during tonight's episode of Raw, and fans will most likely want to hear from Triple H as to his part in ending Daniel Bryan's reign as champion.
