Xbox Announces October's Free Games With Gold for Xbox One, 360

Xbox Live Gold subscribers will get their hands full in October as Xbox announced the lineup of free Games with Gold for Xbox One and Xbox 360.

In a post on the Xbox official blog site, Microsoft revealed the titles, starting off with "Gone Home: Console Edition." The first-person narrative game becomes available for the entire month of October. The award-winning game from 2015 puts players in an interactive experience where they go up close and personal with "keepsakes and photographs and other clues to uncover what happened."

Another title for Xbox One is "The Turning Test" released last year from Square Enix. It will be up for download beginning Oct. 16 and will be available until Nov. 15. The first-person puzzle game is set on Europa, Jupiter's moon, where players use their "Energy Manipulation Tool (EMT) to transfer power in and out of many machines and giant structures that can help you as the narrative-focused story evolves," the description read.

For Xbox 360 owners, "Rayman 3 HD" becomes available for from Oct. 1 to 15. The platformer takes gamers to new heights as they "Jump, fly, and fight your way" against "an army of Hoodlums led by the Black Lum, Andre."

"Medal of Honor: Airborne," on the other hand, will become available from Oct. 16 to 31. "Control your drop as you navigate to a desired insertion point to put yourself in the thick of the fight. Then navigate through the war-torn villages and towns to gain an advantage over your enemies on rooftops, balconies and other ruins," read the game's description.

The previous month was highlighted by notable titles "Forza 5" and "Battlefield 3," which were available until the end of the September, reported Gamespot. "Oxenfree," however, can still be downloaded for free up until Oct. 15.

In other news, Xbox boss Phil Spencer recently expressed his regret over the cross-play possibility between Xbox One and PS4. "I would have liked to see them leave it on," tweeted Spencer in response to "Fortnite" discontinuing its cross-play feature. Game developer Epic clarified that it was a case of "configuration issue."
