According to reports, things at "Young and the Restless" are not going as well as executives want, and an offer has been made to soap star extraordinaire Susan Lucci. She was on "All My Children" for an impressive 41 years and became a phenomenon in the soap opera industry. Now it seems that "Y&R" bigwigs want the star's credibility for their own, hoping to boost ratings and breathe new life into the series.

Fans, however, do not want Lucci on "Y&R" but instead want to see their beloved Michael Muhney back as Adam and Billy Miller as Billy. Comments left on Celebrity Dirty Laundry show "Y&R" fans' devotion to these two men and their characters.

"No need for new stars," posted Donna Derer. "You want to bring back fans, bring back Michael Muhney as Adam. Bring back Billy Miller as Billy. Bring back the stars that the fans love."

Other fans have called for writer Jill Farren Phelps to leave the show, instead of getting rid of so many actors. Several have posted comments demanding that Phelps leave and Muhney and Miller brought back as an apology of sorts.

"What Jill Farren Phelps should do is retire from writing these soap operas," Raquel Garnette wrote. "Bringing Susan Lucci on the show won't boost up the ratings. This is a stupid idea. Jill Farren Phelps what you should do is very simple is hire back Michael Muhney as Adam Newman then lots of people will watch your show."
