21 Pound Lobster Found Near Cape Cod
A 21-pound lobster has been caught in the town of Orleans near Cape Cod, Mass. The catch is thought to be the second largest crustacean ever caught off the coast of New England, and has stunned locals.
The enormous and shocking catch is reportedly only second to a 27-pound lobster that was caught off Nauset Beach earlier this year. That catch made headlines, but this new catch is as shocking as no one thought such a large catch would be seen again for a long time – but this is now two enormous catches within months.
According to a CBS report, Capt'n Elmers Restaurant has possession of the massive 21-pound lobster and has decided to show off the beast and put it on display to attract customers to eat there.

Reports have confirmed that the giant lobster has claws that are about one foot in length, and when analyzed it is thought that the lobster will provide about five pounds of lobster meat.
Capt'n Elmers restaurant manager Elise Costa told CBS News, "I had its tail on my shoulder and I had each claw in one of my hands, and it was as long as my arms and as big as my torso It's giant."
The restaurant confirmed it is likely to keep the display of the lobster for just a short time so that customers can get a glimpse of the enormous catch. However, it will eventually then be either sold off of given to a charity to raffle off for fundraising, according to The Blaze.
Costa has also said, "Often when we have lobsters this large, people come in to catch them, and they like to release the, which is kinda cool."
Currently restrictions imposed on lobster catches mean fewer giant lobsters such as this 21 foot beast are able to make it onto the market, according to CBS News. However, Cape Cod is one area of New England that is not under the "Max Guage" restrictions.
