5 famous people now supporting, endorsing Trump after assassination attempt
Jim Caviezel
Actor Jim Caviezel, who famously portrayed Jesus in the 2004 film "The Passion of the Christ," also formally endorsed Trump after the assassination attempt.
"I fully endorse Trump for President of the United States 2024," Caviezel wrote Monday in a Facebook post that showed the actor standing behind Trump.
While his formal endorsement took place after Trump's assassination attempt, Caviezel has spoken highly of the former president in the past, especially regarding his work to fight against child sex trafficking.
During a 2023 interview with Fox & Friends, Caviezel described Trump as "the new Moses" when it comes to such an endeavor.
“We have to do a lot more. And we got to start with Donald Trump," Caviezel said at the time. He went on to explain that Trump has "got to be in there because he’s going to go after the traffickers."
"This is the new Moses," Caviezel added. "I mean, I’m still Jesus, but he’s the new Moses. Pharaoh, let my children go free."
Caviezel recently depicted Tim Ballard in the 2023 film "Sound of Freedom," which tells the story of a former U.S. government agent who went to Colombia to rescue children from sex traffickers. The movie made approximately $250 million at the box office despite its meager $14.5 million budget.
