Enes Kanter Freedom
Former NBA star Enes Kanter Freedom, a native of Turkey, has emerged as one of the most vocal critics of the Chinese Communist Party, specifically the NBA's business dealings with China in light of its human rights abuses.
The basketball player and human rights advocate announced on Twitter Monday that he was "deeply honored and humbled" to attend the State of the Union address as a guest of the new Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy of California.
He shared pictures of himself in the newly elected House Speaker's office.

Speaking to reporters, McCarthy praised Freedom as "a man who stood up for freedom, lost his right to continue to play basketball but he continues the fight for freedom."
