Ashley Judd, Dario Franchitti Giving Marriage 'Another Try'
Ashley Judd and her estranged husband Dario Franchitti are giving their marriage another go following a horrific car crash earlier this month.
A three-time Indy 500 winner, Franchitti suffered a terrible accident during the Houston Grand Prix on Oct. 6. The high-speed crash caused driver a concussion, a broken right ankle and two spinal fractures.
Although the pair announced their divorce back in January, the crisis caused what appears to be a change of heart in Judd, who rushed to Franchitti's side after hearing of his injuries.
Furthermore, the pair is believed to be breathing new life into their 11-year marriage.
"They are going to give it another try after he recovers," said a source close to Franchitti and Judd, according to Us Weekly. "His accident made her realize how much she loves him."
In addition to Franchitti's injuries, 13 fans and an IndyCar Series official were hurt as debris flew into the stands after the crash, according to the Associated Press.
At the time of the accident, Judd rushed to Franchitti's side at the Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center where the three-time Indy 500 champ received treatment for his injuries, according to Us magazine.
"Thank you for the prayers for @dariofranchitti I have only clothes on my back & the dogs but that's all that we need & we are on our way," the 45-year-old actress wrote to her Twitter followers.
Later on, she and Franchitti both thanked fans for their support.
"Amazed by the incredible outpouring of care & prayers," Judd added Oct. 7. "Thanks everyone. Keeping our heads down here & doing what's in front of us to do."
Alternately, Franchitti tweeted, "Thank you to everyone for all the well wishes. They mean a lot to me… I would also like to send my best to all the fans involved in the accident and hope that everyone is alright.
Meanwhile, Judd nor Franchitti have filed for a divorce despite announcing their separation earlier this year, furthering beliefs that the pair have reconciled.
Nevertheless, the couple released a joint statement about their divorce at the time.
"We have mutually decided to end our marriage," the couple explained. "We'll always be family and continue to cherish our relationship based on the special love, integrity, and respect we have always enjoyed."
