Ashton Kutcher Breaks Ratings Record in 'Two and a Half Men' Debut

Even without Charlie Sheen, the show “Two and a Half Men” managed to break records with new addition Ashton Kutcher as lead character.

Kutcher, who was introduced as an Internet billionaire in the same episode that killed off Sheen’s character, helped bring in 27.7 million viewers on Monday. The premiere was the highest-rated scripted series in six years, according to ew.com.

Kutcher took to his Twitter to thank his fans for the support proven by big ratings.

"I owe you guys big time for showing up for us last night,” Kutcher wrote. “Hope you were entertained. We'll be there every Monday for you."

The highest rated episode in the sitcom’s history managed to defeat hefty competition with the
premiere of “Dancing With the Stars” attracting 18.6 million viewers with controversy surrounding its first transgender dancer and well-known entertainment personalities.

Although Sheen did not appear on the show for the first time in seven years, he was also able to obtain record-breaking ratings on Monday night.

The actor was featured on the “Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen,” which was the highest rated episode in the show’s history. There were 6.4 million viewers watching Sheen get roasted on Monday, beating out Donald Trump’s Roast that drew in 3.5 million viewers in March.

Sheen’s appearance managed to bring in the second highest rating in Comedy Central’s programming history, according to New York Times reports.

Although the former “Two and a Half Men” actor will not consistently be on television just yet, Sheen seemed happy about the support he received on Monday.

The actor spoke to his fans on Twitter after the show aired.

"Thank you to all of my fans who watched the sheen roast! I had a lot of fun doing it and it means so much to me that you all tuned in!"
