Black Friday 2011: $199 BlackBerry PlayBook Sale
For this year's Black Friday, electronics retailer Staples will sell the BlackBerry PlayBook for the discounted price of $199.
The tablet device, made by Research in Motion, will take a $300 price drop from its original price. The BlackBerry PlayBook made its debut this past April.
The 16 GB edition of the tablet will be the version sold by Staples. Within Canadian territories, all versions of the BlackBerry PlayBook will be sold for new low prices. The 16 GB editions will go for $199, the 32 GB versions will sell for $299, and the 64 GB versions will be sold for $399. These sales will run from Nov. 18 to Dec 1.
These price cuts are not the first instances where the BlackBerry PlayBook decreased.
This past September, Best Buy took $150 off the price of the 64 GB devices. Staples and Office Depot reduced the price of all three versions of the 7-inch tablet by $100 and offered an additional $100 discount with a mail-in rebate.
In October, RIM gave BlackBerry business customers a "buy 2, get 1 free" deal for the PlayBook until Dec. 31.
Also, Acer's Iconia tablet will cost $299, down from $399. The 32-inch wide-screen LED television from LG will be sold for $299, down from $599. HP laptops will be sold for prices ranging from $299 to $59
Several tablet devices will also be offered with additional items after purchase.
The Amazon Kindle Fire tablet that goes for $79 will come with a $15 Staples Gift Card. The Barnes & Noble Nook Color tablet retails for $199, down from its original price of $249. A $25 Staples Gift Card will accompany the tablet.
Staples customers should look forward to the store's Black Friday deals.
