Cantinas Christian Music Festival to Promote Arts, Community
Ahead of the first-ever Cantinas Christian Music Festival, the event's organizers have explained more about what is in store for Christian music lovers.
Deemed as being the Christian version of California's Coachella Music Festival, Cantinas incorporates family-friendly fun and spotlights artists and their faith.
The Cantinas Ranch Team explained to The Christian Post that their goal to introduce a family style musical event that reintroduces the arts and emphasizes the importance of community.
"This past January it was our vision to produce a Christian music concert that embodied the mission statement of Cantinas Ranch and to touch the lives of the community at large with a strong family event," said the team in an emailed statement to CP.
Cantinas Music Festival will begin August 25 at California's Paso Robles Event Center. The event will host community vendors including local artists, church booths, street vendors, and food concessions. Moreover, the event will offer children face-painting stations, a photo booth and "walking on water" with a bubble fan.
With so many offerings, the Cantinas team admitted their excitement for the first-ever festival.
"We are excited to share that we will also be launching our first Worship song talent competition on our website," added the Cantinas organizers. "It's been wonderful to see these submissions pouring in from talented individuals who have a great love for the Lord."
The Cantinas Ranch Foundation kicked off the national Christian singer-songwriter talent competition which is being conducted online now. Video submissions must include an eligible artist performing an original Christian-themed song that he or she wrote for the contest.
The team noted the festival will offer activities and entertainment for all ages from eight to 80 and while comparisons are made between Cantinas and Coachella, the Christian rock concert maintains a focus on faith with a family-friendly atmosphere.
Among the people behind the festival are Wayne and Wendy Hughes, who aspire to encourage talented teen and college-level artists to promote Christian values.
The event will star headliner Christian rock band MercyMe, among others, and expects to draw 3,500 attendees with plans to eventually grow to a 3-day festival.
