Chaka Kahn Responds to Rumors of Beyonce Criticism News

Chaka Kahn is defending herself against claims that she spoke negatively about Beyonce.

Kahn, the 60-year-old singer-songwriter, was recently compared to Beyonce on the 7th Annual Essence Women In Hollywood. After a video went viral where Kahn looked to have said "that (expletive)" in response to a Hollywood Today reporter comparing her to a Beyonce song, the veteran songstress took to Twitter.

"@Beyonce Sorry you had to be the target of a slow news day," Kahn wrote to the 32-year-old singer on the famed social networking website. "You know I have nothing but LOVE for you! Keep handling your business!!"

Kahn is not the only singer who has had to defend herself when being accused of having negative thoughts about Beyonce. Jennifer Hudson, the 32-year-old singer, and Beyonce both appeared in the 2006 film adaptation of "Dreamgirls" together.

While the former took on a lead role as Effie in the movie before she ever released an album or appeared on the big screen, a number of media outlets suggested that the pair did not get along well.

However, Hudson put those rumors to rest during an appearance on Bravo TV's "Watch What Happens Live" last year.

"There [were] never any rifts at all," Hudson explained of her relationship with Beyonce while on the show. "That is still my girl to this day. I love her. We've always been good."

Even 21-year-old singer Miley Cyrus had to defend herself went being accused of speaking negatively of Beyonce this year. Love magazine claimed that Cyrus spoke about fans looking to hear more than just the veteran superstar.

"Beyonce has been a big inspiration to me, but she's been out for such a long time," Love magazine reported Cyrus as saying. "She's so talented and I think she's at the top of her game now, but people are always looking for new blood and that's what I bring to the game."

Cyrus is spoke out against the claims that she was looking to take over 32-year-old Beyonce's position as a music industry heavyweight.

"That quote people MADE UP about Beyoncé just made me lol! How are people allowed to make up (expletive) & then [put] quotes around it saying I said that (expletive)! WTF," Cyrus exclaimed on Twitter. "U can cause A LOT of drama but NOT between me & B!"
