Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a longtime supporter of Trump and a former Baptist pastor, took to social media to commend DeSantis for his efforts. Huckabee contends that DeSantis' endorsement is a unifying action.

"I've been [Trump] supporter since he entered the 2024 race but salute RDS for a classy and timely exit and unifying endorsement of Trump," tweeted Huckabee.

Last week, in response to the news of Trump winning the Iowa caucus, Huckabee, who won Iowa in 2008 during that year's Republican presidential primary season, tweeted that he believed "Iowa got it right tonight."
