Christina Aguilera Weight Loss:Yoga and Healthy Eating Leads to Continued Loss

Christina Aguilera revealed a slimmer figure during a press event over the weekend after stating that she would adopt a healthier approach to living.

The returning "Voice" judge made a red carpet appearance on Saturday during an NBC press event. Wearing a short, slim fitting pink dress, the singer proved that adopting a healthy lifestyle was an effective way to loose way and keep it off.

The former "Voice" judge has struggled with weight loss for the past couple of years, receiving constant criticism from the media about her appearance. Last month however during the finale of "The Voice," Christina Aguilera, it appeared the singer had dropped a significant amount of weight.

To lose the weight, the pop star attempted a Fresh Diet program online, which regulated her to 1,600 calories a day, a source told Us. In addition to adopting new, healthy eating habits, the singer also began doing Yoga and working in exercise time that was more fun and less work.

"It's more of a mind-body thing for her," a source told Us.

Aguilera also said Saturday that it helped to have time away from the camera.

"I'm the type of person that I cannot live in front of a camera 24 hours a day," the "Your Body" singer told reporters. "I have to take breaks and stay connected with myself, and I think it's important so that you can then be your best on-camera and find your own happiness with it."

The star was allegedly motivated to lose weight after becoming tired of public criticism, sources told Us Weekly last month.

"A lot of people were on her about her weight and it depressed her," a friend told the magazine. "She went through a bad time because of the criticism."

Much of the criticism was focused around Aguilera wearing clothes that were too tight to flatter her new form. The singer however had said in previous interviews that she was not ashamed of putting on a few extra pounds.

"Actually, the challenge I've always had is being too thin," she told Lucky magazine before her weight loss. "Hey, if you can work it and you can own it, that confidence is going to shine through."

But the motivation to succeed was all on Aguilera.

"She did it all on her own," the source told the magazine.
