The 48th Annual CMA Awards took place in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday night, where Miranda Lambert dominated in four different categories and made history.

Despite missing out on the night's top prize, the "Smokin' and Drinkin'" singer took home several CMA's, including her fifth consecutive Female Vocalist of the Year Award. Lambert's feat puts her ahead of country music legend Reba McEntire who earned four consecutive Female Vocalist of the Year awards during the '80's.

Additionally, Lambert earned the CMA Award for Musical Event of the Year with Keith Urban for their duet, "We Were Us," Album of the Year with "Platinum," as well as Single of the Year with the song "Automatic."

"I don't even know what to say," the singer said during her tearful acceptance speech for the female vocalist trophy, according to ABC.

"I just can't believe that I'm standing here," she continued. "I can't believe this is my life, this is what I get to do for a living, and this is my job. Thank you, fans, for that. I just appreciate what God allowed me to do in my life."

Nevertheless, Lambert missed out on the most coveted award of the night, Entertainer of the Year. The prize went to Luke Bryan, who also thanked God for his accomplishments.

"I hope I can have enough time to say everything that's on my mind," the singer began during his emotional acceptance speech. "Thank you God above all, thank you so much. I have some angels in heaven, my brother and sister are making this night possible for me."

Later on while backstage, the "Play It Again" singer added, "I have longed and sought after to get one of these in my hands … To get the respect of the CMA board … is a ginormous deal. I am really humbled. I think about the hard work it took to get here. I am so blessed this is more the CMA's and I will never take it for granted."

Other CMA Award winners included Lambert's husband Blake Shelton, who also made history on Wednesday night. The country music star is now tied with George Strait and Vince Gill for five wins in the Male Vocalist of the Year category. Kacey Musgraves, Dierks Bentley and Florida Georgia Line were also winners during the night.
