David Arquette Announces Break Up on Twitter
David Arquette has announced the end of his relationship with "Entertainment Tonight" reporter Christina McLarty on Twitter Tuesday.
"Sadly I'm single again," wrote the actor and former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant. "A long distance relationship proved to be too difficult."
The couple was together just five months, according to People magazine. Arquette met McLarty at a boat party last summer, and they made their relationship official the following September.

In a past interview with Howard Stern, Arquette described McLarty as "adorable."
"I'm not one to run around with different girls," explained the 40-year-old of his then-girlfriend. "I like someone that makes me feel good and that I can make feel good."
A source close to the break-up said McLarty and Arquette are doing well despite the split.
"They are both OK with it. It's mutual," said the insider speaking to People magazine. "They knew it was going to be a problem when Christina got transferred to NYC right after they started dating."
Arquette lives in Los Angeles near his daughter, Coco, who he shares with estranged wife Courtney Cox. The actors announced their separation in 2010, but have yet to file for a divorce.
"They tried the bicoastal thing but it was too hard," added the source of McLarty and Arquette. "It was hard to break up but it just couldn't work like this."
The newly-single actor will likely remain friends with ex-girlfriend McLarty, as he and Cox continue to conduct an amicable relationship following their split.
Arquette and Cox often communicate with one another via Twitter, and the "Friends" actress along with their daughter appeared in the audience while Arquette competed on "DWTS."
While on ABC's reality show, Arquette was voted off the ballroom dance floor during week seven. His "DWTS" partner was Kym Johnson.
The Virginia-born actor has been busy working on artistic projects that include paintings and sculptures. Arquette often posts images of his work on his Twitter account.
