Drake's Aaliyah Inking Revealed After Anger Over Fan's Name Tattoo
Soon after rapper Drake went on a rant against a tattoo artist who embedded his name on a fan’s forehead, the musician appeared in a photograph with the late singer Aaliyah tattooed on his back.
The rapper has openly shared his infatuation with Aaliyah – wearing her picture on the earpiece he performs with and writing a letter to her on the anniversary of her death, which took place in 2001.
In the open letter to the deceased singer, Drake wrote, "I hope I make the right life choices so I can end up in heaven where I know you rest your head. I'll continue to make music in your honor until the day we finally meet."
Although Drake has not hidden his admiration for Aaliyah, whom he says he “truly loved,” he was not amused when hearing about the girl who tattooed his name across her forehead. The rapper who released the lyrics, “Tat my name on you so I know it’s real,” reportedly said he wanted to meet the woman who committed the act to find out her motives.
However, Drake expressed outrage at tattoo artist Kevin Campbell for inking the young woman in his tattoo shop.
“The guy who tatted it is a f---ing a------, though. I will tell you that," Drake said in an MTV report. "You should lose your job, and you shouldn’t do tattoos again. I don’t f--- with you, and if I ever see you, I’ll f--- you up.”
Campbell said the example of the recent events was a reflection of the downward spiral of the world.
“In my opinion this whole world's going to sh--, and sh-- rolls downhill,” Campbell told VICE magazine. “So I might as well just jump in, hold my breath, and pray to God that there's a nice big soft puddle of diarrhea for me to land in once everything hits the fan.”
