Evelyn Lozada, Chad Johnson's VH1 Show Canceled After Domestic Dispute, Petition Protest

Evelyn Lozada and Chad Ochocinco will no longer star in their own VH1 reality television show after the network decided to pull the program from their schedule after a domestic violence incident involving the couple.

Johnson, NFL veteran wideout, was recently arrested after allegedly head-butting his reality television star wife Lozada following an argument over his purchase of contraceptives. After his hometown Miami Dolphins dropped the wide receiver from their roster, VH1 followed up with an announcement about dropping the couple from their schedule next month.

"Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series 'Ev and Ocho' from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it," the network said in a statement.

The series "Ev and Ocho" was supposed to document the couple's journey to marriage, concluding with the exchanging of vows that took place on July 4. In June, 36-year-old Lozada opened up to radio personality Egypt Sherrod about feeling blessed to have the show with her 34-year-old husband.

"It's unfortunate the world doesn't get to see every side, but I'm also so thankful that you know God blessed me with another show, which is the 'Ev & Ocho' show, cause you get to see a totally different person of Evelyn," the reality television star told Sherrod. "You get to see what I'm really like, so I'm happy about that."

However, fans may never get to see the show months after petitioning to end its broadcast. In a petition called, Boycott "Basketball Wives" & "Evelyn Lozada": Don't support Evelyn Lozada's spinoff show "EV And OCHO" on Change.org, over 32,000 called for VH1 not to air the show.

"Evelyn Lozada is a bully. The violence on 'Basketball Wives' is horrible and disgraceful," the petition states. "Physical assaults, threats, verbal abuse, and harassment. VH1 is rewarding this behavior by giving Evelyn a spinoff. Don't reward negative behavior."

While VH1 was planning to air Lozada's spinoff series despite the petition stemming from her stint on "Basketball Wives," her recent domestic violence incident has cost the newlywed couple their own television spot. While the case involving Johnson and Lozada is still pending, the pair must reportedly stay away from one another until it is resolved.
