Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4, KitKat Update Now Available on T-Mobile
The Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4, KitKat update is now available for T-Mobile customers.
The latest version of the software started rolling out to customers on the carrier earlier today. Users who haven't received a notification to update could check for it in the Settings menu by following the usual drill. It may take a few days to reach everyone.
The Galaxy Note 3 was released in the fall of this year and is available on most major U.S. carriers including T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T. It features top of the line specs with an impressive display and 13-megapixel camera. It also sports a new design with its leather-like plastic backing which differentiates it from past Note models.
The Android 4.4 KitKat update will roll out to most of Samsung's high-end devices in the near future.
The company released a list of those that will upgrade via press release earlier this week that included the Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy S4 mini, Galaxy S4 Zoom, Galaxy S3, Galaxy Mega, Galaxy Light, Galaxy Note 8.0, Galaxy Tab 3, Galaxy Note 10.1 and Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition.
Samsung also detailed the changes the update will bring to all of these devices.
"The upgrade provides a number of innovative, easy-to-use features that enhance the user experience, including a more intuitive user interface, enhanced messaging capabilities and updated applications," wrote the company.
These features include a new location menu that allows users to easily activate GPS, Wi-Fi and mobile networks while simultaneously checking the battery usage of apps running location and service capabilities.
Enhanced Messaging will give users the ability to choose between Messages or Hangouts as their preferred default messaging application and select from a larger assortment of updated Emoji icons.
