Halle Berry In Paris With Martinez for Christmas
Halle Berry has been spotted spending Christmas in Paris with her fiancée Olivier Martinez this week.
The couple was photographed strolling through the Saint-Germain-des-Pres neighborhood in the City of Lights on Sunday.
Despite the alleged altercation between Berry's ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry and Martinez over Thanksgiving, the betrothed pair was smiling in Paris.
Berry, 46, was clad in leather pants paired with a navy wool coat while Martinez, also 46, donned a leather jacket and jeans. The "Cloud Atlas" actress even took time to blow kisses to fans while roaming the city, according to the Daily Mail.
Native to France, Martinez appeared to enjoy showing his fiancée around town.
The vacation arrived at a good time for the engaged couple as Martinez is likely still recovering from injuries sustained during a violent brawl with Aubry at Berry's Los Angeles home over Thanksgiving. Both men were noticeably injured after the fight, according to Us Magazine.
It comes as no surprise that Berry visited Paris over Christmas. Earlier this year, the actress expressed her wish to move to France with Martinez and her four-year-old daughter Nahla.
The "Monster's Ball" star explained her desire to move abroad with her daughter during an interview with InStyle.
"Because we are followed all the time, she [Nahla] is starting to feel like she is somehow special, and of course she is," Berry explained to the magazine in November. "But I want her to understand that she's special because of who she is, not because she was born into this celebrity blender."
Meanwhile, due to the bitter custody battle against Gabriel Aubry, who is Nahla's father, Berry was denied the right to relocate to the country permanently.
Filed in a Los Angeles family court in February, Berry requested to move with Nahla over concerns about their personal safety in the U.S. The actress has been forced to take legal action against two stalkers in the past, and is constantly avoiding paparazzi.
The French-Canadian model disputed Berry's request, claiming that a move to France was designed to limit his contact with Nahla, according to ABC News.
A source close to Berry denied that the actress' desire to relocate to Paris was a malicious act against Aubry.
"Halle was never going for full custody," the insider said, according to People magazine. "That wasn't what it was about. Whatever the outcome, she wasn't trying for that. There were just other issues that they couldn't resolve, and therefore the courts had to intervene."
The Oscar Award-winning actress split from Aubry, 36, in 2010 after four years together.
