Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill 'Open' to Reprising Roles for New 'Star Wars' Film
Harrison Ford has allegedly said he is "open and upbeat" about the upcoming new "Star Wars" film. The news of another "Star Wars" film, this time produced by Disney, caught many off guard, but has the original stars excited.
"Harrison is open to the idea of doing the movie and he's upbeat about it; all three of them are," a source told Entertainment Weekly. The "three" refers to Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker, Carrie Fisher, who made the role of Princess Leia iconic, and Ford, who would reprise his role as Han Solo.
George Lucas was the original producer and writer of the "Star Wars" series, which was incredibly popular in the 1970s. After the success of the original films, Lucas waited several years before writing three prequels to the already established series.

The prequels did not go over as well with "Star Wars" die-hards, who were upset to see new graphics inserted and storylines slightly altered in order to produce new films. They did find a niche with a younger generation, though, and featured younger actors such as Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman.
News broke late last week that Lucas had sold the rights to his "Star Wars" enterprise to Disney for $4 billion. The latest film is to be released in 2015. Lucas has said he will donate 100 percent of the profits to charity.
"For 41 years, the majority of my time and money has been put into the company. As I start a new chapter in my life, it is gratifying that I have the opportunity to devote more time and resources to philanthropy," Lucas said after the announcement of the sale.
"I am dedicating the majority of my wealth to improving education," he wrote in a letter from 2010. "It is the key to the survival of the human race. We have to plan for our collective future- and the first step begins with the social, emotional and intellectual tools we provide to our children."
