HTC One X 5 to Feature 1080p Display
The rumored HTC One X 5 could feature a full HD 1080p display as Sharp is now producing HD screens that powerful.
The company announced the mass-production of 5-inch smartphone displays with full HD- that's 1980 x 1080 pixels- this month.
These screens will be at 443 ppi, making them have the highest pixel density ever on a smartphone screen. The highest density on a smartphone at this time is around 340 ppi on handsets such as Sony's Xperia V, Xperia S, and HTC's Rezound.
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo has confirmed that it will be launching a smartphone with a 5-inch 1080p display in the near future and HTC could also feature this screen on its upcoming One X 5, or on another device known as the Google Nexus 5.
In other HTC news, the One X Jelly Bean update should available for most users by Christmas.
This information was revealed in a recent post by Modaco.com, who also stated the update will begin rolling out sometime before the end of this month. This is not new news as the October Jelly Bean roll out has already been reported by other media outlets.
It has also been confirmed that the non-branded HTC One X will be the first model to receive Android 4.1, with the major carrier models to follow shortly after.
HTC will also release the One X+, a slightly beefed up version of the original One X that will come with Android 4.1, JellyBean pre-installed. The One S is also expected to receive the update, however, no dates for that have been confirmed as of this week.
The HTC One S ICS 4.0.4 update has begun rolling out in nations throughout the continent of Europe including the Netherlands and Germany.
This latest build of Ice Cream Sandwich for the HTC handset brings with it a few bug fixes and the latest Sense update that improves the phone's camera app.
The device will also now have the EA Gamebox gaming hub and a remote control diagnostic tool installed once the update is performed.
