iOS 7 Release Date Set for Third Week of September, Software to Roll Out With iPhone 6
The iOS 7 release date could be set for the third week of Sept, just a few days before the iPhone 5S/6 drops.
The final version of the software will be issued to developers on Sept. 10, according to a new report from MacRumors.
Apple will issue it to them and unveil the new iPhone on the same day. The company normally releases the smartphone the following Friday after it's unveiling which should be Sept. 20. The software is expected to roll out a few days before that which would make the official release date for iOS 7 in the third week of next month.
The iOS 7 Beta 6 was issued to developers late yesterday. The update corrects some of the issues with iTunes in iCloud with some purchases downloading or playing at unexpected times.
BGR stated that Beta 6 will be the final developer release before Apple finalizes iOS 7 with a golden master build. This golden master will be seeded to internal groups and carrier partners starting on Sept. 5. Developers will begin receiving the official update on Sept. 10, the rumored release date for the next-gen iPhone.
Beta 5 contained bug fixes and improvements.
This version rolled two weeks ago shortly after the previous beta 4 version became available. Apple also launched the 4th version of its Apple TV beta, which could be downloaded by registered members of Apple's paid developers program.
The software is said to bring a number of improvements to the system such as bug fixes, newly redesigned Settings icons and a Control Center option that allows the feature to be disabled within apps. It features a completely redesigned interface created to compete with the ever-changing Android OS. Google debuted its latest Android 4.3 last month.
It also offers a slew of minor interface tweaks and improvements that make the system run faster and smoother. The Control Center settings allow the user to turn the function off while in apps which stops it from being accessed from the bottom of the screen while playing games.
