iPhone 5 Release Date: Half iPhone 4 Users Disappointed in iPhone 4S, But Will Still Buy
The Oct. 14 release of the iPhone 4S is expected to be the biggest release in the history of the iPhone, however a number of consumers still believe the iPhone 4S has little to be desired.
Despite initial claims from commentators questioning the popularity of the iPhone 4S, the smartphone proved that it has just as much demand as any other iPhone by selling out of pre-orders in just 24 hours on Oct. 7.
A survey conducted by Retrevo polled 1,300 smartphone users in the U.S. about their opinion of the iPhone 4S.

Of the demographic, 47 percent of current iPhone 4 users said they were disappointed in the iPhone 4S, detailing that they hoped for a bigger display, revamped design and 4G capability.
The iPhone 4S has been advertised for its faster processor, high-resolution 8MP camera and its exclusive feature, the virtual personal assistant, Siri.
However, after months of speculation about an iPhone 5, which was rumored to have a tear drop shape, a larger screen and a thinner, rounder body, many are most disappointed that the iPhone 4S has maintained the chassis of the iPhone 4.
Commentators note that it is the software updates that are driving the popularity of the iPhone 4S.
Retrevo's survey found that 71 percent of smartphone users were not disappointed in the iPhone 4S, while 53 percent of iPhone 4 users had no problem with the smartphone.
Despite a large amount of iPhone 4 users saying they were not happy with the iPhone 4S, 42 percent say they still plan to buy the smartphone.
Forty-four percent of iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS users say they plan to buy the iPhone 4S.
Many commentators who have reviewed the iPhone 4S say that an upgrade to the fifth-generation smartphone may be a good investment for iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS users, but that iPhone 4 users are probably best off keeping their phones and upgrading to iOS 5, which was also recently released.
