iPhone 6 Rumors: Apple Caught Testing Smartphones With 6-Inch Screens
New iPhone 6 rumors have emerged stating that Apple is currently testing smartphones with 6-inch screens.
The company will eventually release a handset with a larger screen that the current model, according to a new report in The Wall Street Journal. It claims Apple has been testing models with screens as large as six inches in recent months, which is a significant increase from the 4-inch screen on the iPhone 5. However, these bigger handsets are not expected to be released this year.
The screens on the phones being tested range from 4.8-inches to six inches, according to WSJ sources. They also revealed that Apple is ready to move on to a smartphone with a larger screen and that the 4.8-inch size is the one that interests the company the most.
Apple will unveil its next-generation iPhone models at its media event scheduled for Sept. 10. The low-cost iPhone 5C and slightly redesigned iPhone 5S will make their debut there. The iPhone 5C will feature a new plastic body and lower grade specs in order to keep the price lower and the iPhone 5S will come with a new processor and fingerprint sensor.
Both the iPad mini 2 and fifth-generation model are expected to launch in Q4 2013, according to a research report by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
In order, for those tabs to drop during the time, Apple will need to unveil them very soon. And with a major media event coming in just 5 days, it is safe to say that the first appearance of these devices could be taking place very soon.
Kuo also claims that Apple will release another low-cost iPad mini at the beginning of 2013. This model will use the A6 chip found in the iPhone 5.
